The original Nike Air Half Cent Penny - Varsity Royal colorway was easily one of the top sneakers this year. It certainly was one of my favorites. But the Varsity Royal has some serious competition with the Black/Metallic Silver colorway. With a dominating and aggressive look, the Nike Air 1/2 Cent in Black and Metallic Silver is the most awaited for color in the 1/2 Cent Hybrid Series.
The shoe features a completely black colorway with a translucent heel, light touches of Metallic Silver on the upper, and silver accents on the shoe laces and the Nike swoosh. The patent leather Swoosh as well as the logo on the heel are both in a slick black/silver design.
The Black/Metallic Silver colorway combines features from previously released Air Penny’s and the beloved Air Foamposite model. It pays homage to the Penny Hardaway Shoe line. The 1/2 Cent name takes its inspiration from Lil Penny’s jersey number. Giving proper respects to L'il Penny, his silhouette is featured on the heel and on a 3D hologram on the sole.
